More than 40 percent of Peru’s population is young. For that reason, the District Federation of Youth of Pitumarca (Federación Distrital de Jóvenes de Pitumarca, FEDIJP) the Wayna Pitumarca Association and the Interquorum Network (Red Interquorum) of Cusco, which are leaders in various socio-cultural events in the Cusco region and include youth representatives from many districts, in coordination with CADEP JMA and Heifer Peru, organized the First Inter-Regional Encounter of Farm Youth in Izcuchaca, in the province of Anta, Cusco. The goal was to provide an opportunity to discuss the problems facing youth and issues related to local development, while helping to strengthen young people’s leadership and organizational skills to enable them to play a key role in the development of their communities and the sustainability of their districts, provinces and regions of Puno, Apurímac and Cusco
