1.- Dates for submitting project profiles
Heifer Peru's deadline for receiving project profiles is December 1. After that date, the proposals are evaluated, first in the office and then in the field. The results will determine possibilities for working together. (Download the project profile form, attached below)

This is a brief summary of the project for Heifer Peru, which should include the following:

GENERAL INFORMATION
a.Project Name (No more than six words)

PROJECT SUMMARY (Maximum 120 words)
Briefly describe the purpose of the project, the place, number of families and principal activities, and planned investment.

3. PARTNER'S BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
Brief review of the partner's history, experience and development.

4. RATIONALE – LOCAL CONDITIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR ASSISTANCE
Brief explanation of the reason for the project, the problems in the area, particularly the ones the project is meant to solve, and the zone's natural, economic and social potential.

PARTICIPATING POPULATION
Clearly describe who will participate in the project. Include clear, current data about the population's living conditions (poverty levels) and human potential. Describe the community or grassroots organization that will be the project partner.
Selection criteria for participants
How many original families / persons will be included in the project?

PRINCIPAL PROJECT ACTIVITIES
A clear description of the principal activities, according to the objectives outlined in the proposal.

TRAINING
Describe the training methodology and the principal characteristics of the events, and explain in detail who will participate, the topics to be covered, and who will provide the training. Include sharing of experiences, events, courses, teaching materials, etc.

SHARING OF RESOURCES
As a fundamental principle of Heifer Project International, clearly describe the plan for sharing, describing insofar as possible the recipients, the methodology to be used and the time frame for the pass-on chain.

BUDGET AND FINANCING (DETAILED)
The requested budget, local contribution and/or any other source of funding must be indicated clearly and in detail, specifically listing the use and distribution of funds. In allocation of expenses, Investment Expenses must be greater than or equal to 75 percent (line items 1,2,3,4,5,6,9 and 10), and operating costs cannot exceed 25 percent (7 and 8).

2.- Intervention Zones
Piura, Lambayeque, Lima, Junin, Pasco, Huancavelica, Apurimac, Cusco and Puno.

3.- What is the ratio of operating expenses to investment for projects presented to Heifer?

  • Operating expenses (personnel and office expenses) 25%
  • Investment expenses (animals, equipment, supplies, travel, training, technical assistance) 75%

4.- Project time frames
Heifer Peru takes into account the following project phases:

· Active projects
Projects that are currently being funded and are in the implementation phase.

· Follow-up phase
Projects for which financing has ended, and which are in a reporting phase to measure their sustainability. This follow-up period continues for two years after the financing ends.

· Historical projects
Projects that have completed the financing phase and the two-year follow-up period.
